The idea of creating video can sometimes feel overwhelming. Looming is that darn thing they call a budget. That seems to be the number one tripper upper for people. Time and budget. But let’s just talk today as if the part of the budget we have to think about is are we going to shoot the video ourselves or hire a team? Before you call up Stephen Spieberg lets consider a few things that will inform your video and give you a road map. This is just to get you started.

  1. Know why you are creating the videos. What are your objectives? To inspire? Inform? Entertain? etc.

  2. Know your audience you’re creating video for.

  3. Know the core message you want to convey

  4. What are the types of video do you want to create? How-tos? Brand Story? Behind the Scenes? Entertainment? What makes sense with your brand?

  5. How do you want your audience to feel or do after watching your video? What’s your call to action (CTA)

  6. How will you measure the success of your videos? How will you know your objective is being met?

These are just a few things to ponder to get that creative video mind moving. This is exciting! You’re going to start creating video content!
